Devotional: When Lies Crumble

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 (NIV)
We all carry invisible battles in our minds—deep-seated thoughts that whisper lies: You’re not enough. God can’t use you. You’ll never change. These are strongholds—mental and emotional fortresses built on fear, shame, or pride.
But God’s Word is not passive. It is a weapon. It doesn’t just comfort us—it confronts the lies we’ve believed for far too long. Scripture pulls back the veil and exposes the roots of those strongholds. In its light, the lies lose their power.
When we replace the lie with truth—when “I’m not enough” becomes “His grace is sufficient for me” (2 Corinthians 12:9)—something begins to shift. Freedom enters. Minds are renewed. Strongholds start to crumble.
Today, pause and ask:
What lie have I believed that God’s Word wants to confront?
Then open your Bible. Let the truth speak louder.
Prayer:
Lord, reveal the lies that have taken root in my heart. Show me your truth in Scripture, and help me to replace every lie with your Word. Renew my mind and lead me in freedom. Amen.
